NEWS: MEET SIMONE BENZI, CLASS OF 2020

Nato e cresciuto a Forlì, Simone Benzi ha conseguito una Laurea in Lettere e Beni Culturali presso il DAMS di Bologna con una tesi intitolata “I racconti interattivi: l’evoluzione della modalità narrativa nel medium videoludico”. Curatore e visual artist, Simone investiga il potenziale narrativo dei videogiochi. La sua prima esperienza videoludica risale al 1993 con Sony The Hedgehog su Sega Genesis. Successivamente, si è interessato alla disciplina accademica dei game studies.

Born and raised in Forlì, Simone Benzi received his B.A in Literature and Cultural Heritage from D.A.M.S. University in Bologna with a thesis titled “Interactive tales. The evolution of storytelling in digital games”. A curator and visual artist, Simone is especially interested in the narrative potential of video games. He discovered gaming at the age of five, with Sony The Hedgehog on a Sega Genesis, and later became interested in the emergent academic discipline of game studies.
