ACADEMIC YEAR: 2019-2020; 2018-2019; 2017-2018

GAME TECH explores the interaction space between digital and physical worlds, extending the shared boundaries of hardware/software/user interfaces. Students will learn to integrate multisensory channels and interaction modalities, by connecting people, computers, objects, and environments. Theoretical insights, real-world case studies, and hands-on lab experiments will provide a wide technology playground for potential innovation and creativity, based on open hardware/software eco-systems (Arduino and Processing) for quick and user-friendly prototyping. At the end of the course, each student will conceive and design an interactive digital+physical project, with a particular focus on environmental and biological data processing for explicit/implicit user interaction and user experience evaluation (usability, emotional engagement, cognitive effort).
