As game designer and animator, Schönfelder has worked on games for various platforms in both, the games industry and as an artist. Schönfelder’s artistic work often deals with questions surrounding ethics, documentary, and everyday experience. She has worked as artist in residence at UCLA Game Lab in Los Angeles and at the Deutsches Haus at New York University. Her games won several awards, including the Most Amazing Game Award at A MAZE. Berlin, the Red Dot Design Award and an award by the Art Directors Club. Schönfelder contributes to various game events as she co-organizes the European Innovative Games Showcase at GDC Europe and works as jury member for the Independent Games Festival and the Game Developers Choice Awards at GDC. At flaregames GmbH, a mobile games company based in Karlsruhe, Schönfelder worked on F2P titles targeting a mid-core audience. Currently she lives in the Frankfurt area and works as freelance game designer. Schönfelder teaches game classes at Universities and schools like Filmacademy Baden-Wuerttemberg, Geneva University of Art and Design and the Stuttgart Media University. Read more here.

It explores all aspects of representation in games - from simulation to abstract play, from photo-realism to low-poly art, from digital expressionism to radical punk aesthetics - providing students valuable experience using various languages, strategies, and methods that can be applied to their projects. The instructor will provide useful reference and will assists students in identifying and achieving their unique style.
